“Nobody Was Talking About This. Now Parliament Will Hear It.”

On last night’s episode of Unscrew the News, I sat down with two guests doing something no one else in Ottawa has been willing to do: MP Dean Allison (Niagara West, elected 2004) and constitutional lawyer Shawn Buckley of the National Citizens Inquiry and NHPPA.org.

Together they’ve launched the Allison Inquiry — four days of public testimony from vaccine-injured Canadians, held in a parliamentary committee room in Ottawa, September 8–11, 2026.

How it came about

MP Allison told us the idea had been gnawing at him for years. Through COVID, his office heard from small business owners losing everything, kids falling through the cracks, truck drivers pressured into a shot they didn’t want. He’d already put private member’s bills on the record defending the right to work and travel without the vaccine. But there was never a postmortem — no recap, no accountability, no place for injured Canadians to be heard.

A meeting in his office last October with Buckley and Teresa about natural health products turned into the conversation that started all this. The concept is simple: invite MPs and senators to sit at a table and listen to injured Canadians tell their stories, in public, on the record.

The numbers MP Allison laid out

Citing Health Canada’s own records and a Global News investigation:

  • 60,000 Canadians recognized as injured — and that’s just what’s officially acknowledged

  • 11,000 seriously injured

  • 3,500 applied to the Vaccine Injury Support Program; roughly 3,000 accepted

  • 252 actually paid out — less than half a percent

  • Over $35 million of $55 million in program spending went to overhead!

Allison called it what it is: asinine, unacceptable, and the government’s responsibility to fix.

What Buckley told us

Between 700 and 800 people have already applied to testify since the June 4 press conference. Only about 40 can appear in person over four days — but there’s no limit on the written record, and every consenting written testimony will be included.

Buckley described a team volunteer breaking down in tears reading the applications. Five years in, these are people in constant pain, gaslit by a medical system where doctors still can’t acknowledge vaccine injury without risking their licenses. For some, even filling out the form is traumatic. That, he said, is itself part of the story.

His warning to anyone who watches all four days in September: you will walk through a door, and it will lock behind you. You won’t be the same.

This is not a government inquiry — it runs on you

No government funding. No party backing (though Poilievre gave Allison the green light, and other Conservative MPs are free to attend). It’s run by volunteers through the nonprofit COVID Testimony Association, and they need to fly in and house up to 40 witnesses.

How to participate:

  • Injured? Apply to testify at AllisonInquiry.com (also reachable at covidtestimony.com). If someone you know has died, apply on their behalf — with the family’s permission. Never apply for someone without asking.

  • Donate. Travel, housing, AV, and the website are all citizen-funded.

  • Pressure your MP and senators to take one of the 30 seats each day. The website has letter templates and instructions.

  • In Ottawa? Volunteer families are needed to billet injured witnesses for whom hotels aren’t workable. Email info@allisoninquiry.com.

  • Independent media: apply to attend by email — accreditation isn’t required for this one.

As Buckley put it before we signed off: before June 4, nobody was talking about vaccine injuries — not the mainstream, not even the freedom community. The injured can’t move on. Now the conversation has started, and it’s up to Canadians to carry it.
